To Be Announced...
the new album from armando garibay & the blackout beat
Three years after the release of The Blackout Beat Revolution album, Marcos and Armando are back with a brand new album, TBA. Produced entirely by Armando Garibay, TBA is a high energy genre bending set aimed to reinvent the Blackout Beat sound. While The Revolution was comprised of Latin and Reggaeton beats, TBA is laced with deep electronic tones aimed for the dance floor while still carrying the Blackout Beat's signature Pop platform. Influenced by electronic music, Armando wanted to create a sound that combined the thump and atmospheres of Electronica with the songwriting and melodies of Pop songs. The album ranges from the deep synths of Controlling Me to the emotional Pop/Electronica ballad, Fade Away.
Being a fan of a wide variety of music, the album carries hints of Hip-Hop, R&B, Latin, Rock, Electronic, and Dance music while still maintaining a consistent sound. Helping to create TBA's signature sounds are the main collaborators new and old. Marcos Garibay (Blackout Beat Co-Founder) is featured throughout. One of the last songs recorded for the album, Take U Home, features Marcos over a pounding synth beat. Black Widow features Marcos over an Electronic -Middle Eastern inspired track that is sure to raise eyebrows. Frequent Blackout collaborator Lexie Mater lends vocals to the sensual synth throb of Body On Mine, the Trance/Latin influenced Watch Me, and the Industrial/House track, Hard to Breathe. New Blackout Beat collaborator Jeremiah P. gives TBA a unique twist. Coming from a Punk/Rock background, Jeremiah shows versatility by adding Pop/R&B vocals to many songs. In the Crowd is a classic example of the eclectic sound created. Over a driving 808 synth beat, Jeremiah sings with the urgency of Punk music but delivers it with a Pop ideal. Adding to the mix is Ideal Citizens bassist Louis Worth. Jeremiah shows up later on the emotional synth haze of In My Dreams, the 80's European Electronic number OD, the Pop/R&B thump of Must Let U Go, and the sensual climatic R&B track Closer. TBA is due in stores and for sale online at various digital retail stores on December 17th. Be sure to keep checking back here as more songs, photos, studio footage, and music videos from TBA are added!
